Since no one has made a post in a long time, I'll make one. Since the economy is in the tank, unemployment is high, and costs such as shipping, supplies, etc.... are rising, are many of you raising your prices this year? I have decided not to this year but definitely will next year. Probably warped reasoning but anyway, that is what I have decided. Deer heads are 450 as I have been the last two years..... Ducks 225....

Anyone care to comment on their thoughts of price increasing at this time.....?

MTA Logo

I like the MTA logo that we have, but I think it could use some updating. I've been playing around with it and tried to modernize it a little. I was curious what others think. Should we think about maybe changing it, or do you like the old one better? Any and all feedback welcome. I really want to know what everyone else thinks.

Registration Deadline!!!

Hi, everybody. The forum has been kind of quiet lately. I hope this means everyone is busy working on their pieces for the show. Speaking of the show, the registration deadline is this coming Friday, July 24th; so hurry and send them in. You DO NOT have to have your entries filled out on it. Competition update

Bass Pro is on board with us this year, and will be giving away two $100.00 gift cards at our banquet. One will go to the highest scoring Masters entry, and one will go to the highest scoring Professional entry. Migratory bird permits

Hi everyone! I just recently joined the MTA and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nathan Anderson and have been to taxidermy for six years now. I have a question about bird permits, i have the federal permit information but need to make sure i have all the state requirements before sending it back to apply. What does the state require you to have?

H. A. Nixon's Loss

For those of you who haven't heard, yet. H.A.'s wife, Jackie, went into the hospital on Sat., May 16th with infection in her marrow. She passed away on Sun., May 17th around 1pm. The visitation will be held Tues., May 19th in Booneville at the Davis Funeral Home (2 miles off I-70 on the left) from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held in Wooldridge at the Wooldridge Church on Hwy 179, Wed., May 20th at 11 am. I have sent a card on behalf of the Association, but I wanted to let everyone know in case any of you could attend.
Donnie and I won't be able to be there. Donnie's father passed away Mon., May 18th; so we will be in Arkansas attending his father's funeral. We hope to see you all in June. Take care and God Bless, Debbie

Snake Seminar

The KTA is having a snake mounting seminar that will be held at Second Creation Taxidermy School (Cindy Cunningham) near Cabelas in Kansas City KS on June 28th. Cindy has invited any MTA member that would like to attend to join them. They will be holding a business meeting first, then the seminar will begin around 1PM. I thought it was generous for her and the KTA to invite us, and would encourage anyone who is interested to join them. If you need directions, you can PM me.

June Meeting

I want to urge everyone who can possibly make it to the June 13th meeting to attend. You've received your special mailing, and Cole has also given us some ideas for possible changes at the show. Some will wait until the Aug. meeting, but we may incorporate a few this year. Come take part in the decision making process. This isn't politics. Each person's vote counts!! If you don't care enough to participate, don't complain later. The River Hills shooting range is near Rocheport, MO. The shoot will begin around 9 or 10 am, followed by lunch, and the business meeting. I would suggest arriving at about 11 am or slightly later. I hope to see you there. Debbie

Stolen Deer Mounts

Hey All, Bill Zimmerman called me yesterday regarding some stolen Deer Mounts Recovered in Texas County by law enforcement. If you happen to hear of anyone who has had any mounts stolen you can contact Bill Z. or the Texas County conservation or Sheriffs Dept. Some of the recovered deer had tags on them that we use at the Classic for scoring purposes is how they came up with Bills name to contact. I guess the deer they recovered are some nice ones so I'm sure someones looking for them.
